Contemporary composers are the focal point on this program, with music and solo instrumentalists, evoking the wisdom and words of the past and of spirit voices. A portion of the concert features the poetry and music inspired by Native Americans who lived in harmony with the earth and environment long before the modern-day “green movement.” Repertoire includes: Past Life Melodies – Sarah Hopkins; We are the Stars – J Granville Eakin III; Sky Loom – Jean Belmont; and Chant of the Last Blackfoot – Debra Lynn. As a fun treat, Foo’s Fabulous Custard of Brookside will be served at our reception following the May 1 concert.
